A massive shot list, an entire year of social deliverables, and a set full of animals. Shockingly, it went remarkably smooth.
"Project Milo" was an incredibly hectic but wildly rewarding undertaking. The objective was massive: shoot an entire year's worth of photo and video social content for the brand in a single production sprint. Because this was my very first time directing pets on set, I knew we couldn't leave anything to chance. Before cameras even rolled, we did heavy research and consulted with seasoned colleagues to figure out exactly how to tackle a multi-animal storyboard.
That intense preparation paid off big time, resulting in a remarkably smooth workflow. While the schedule was demanding, the real breakthrough was collaborating with a top-tier pet handler who was the absolute MVP of the production, keeping the set focused and stress-free. We managed to pull off a massive deliverable list while still getting to play with an incredible roster of trained dogs and one very patient cat, proving that the right prep and the right crew can tame any set.
