A Sony a6500, one light, and a band entirely down for the ride. Proof that a brilliantly simple concept always beats a massive gear list.
To be completely honest, the exact original brief behind "Mayo Eats Mayo"—whether it was to promote an upcoming album or a concert for the band Mayonnaise—escapes me. But what I vividly remember is the execution. The objective simply became about taking a quirky, straightforward concept and maximizing the fun on screen.
This project is the ultimate proof that a strong idea matters far more than a heavy footprint. We shot the entire piece using only my Sony a6500 and a single light. Driven by a highly skilled skeletal crew composed of my cinematographer, producer, audio recordist, and a band who was incredibly game for whatever we threw at them, we just let loose. The shoot was completely effortless, proving that when the concept is solid and the energy on set is right, you don't need a truck full of equipment to deliver highly engaging entertainment.
