What happens when you pitch a zero-budget film school project to a rock icon? You get an official music video.
Believe it or not, the official music video for "Sorry Naman" was just our film school assignment. Convinced that our class's concept had real legs, I decided to take a massive swing and pitch it directly to Rico Blanco. To my absolute surprise, he was completely game, turning my very first foray into music videos into an official release.
Working with a microscopic student budget forced the entire team to be wildly resourceful, especially our producer who worked miracles to secure our locations. But that scrappy, all-hands-on-deck energy paid off in the best way possible. We no longer had a TV or cable at home when it premiered, so I actually sprinted to my neighbor's house just to watch it air on MYX. Achieving that childhood dream of seeing our work on that iconic channel is one of the reasons why this remains my absolute favorite project to date.
